Chalet Morville is based just a few hundred meters off the Venosc DH run, considered by many to be one of Europe's best DH MTB runs (check out the video below). There is also easy access to two of Europe's most extensive, challenging and thrilling MTB Mountains, Les 2 Alpes and Alpe D'Huez. These 2 resorts are known together as Les Grandes Alpes offering 360km of runs. Les 2 Alpes is accessed by a cable car ride, and Alpe D'Huez is accesed by a free 20 min shuttle. The popularity of these two mountains has been steadily growing over the last few years and a lot of this is due to the large and prestigious events that are being held in these two resorts, below you can find detailed information and dates of all the major MTB events to be held this year.
The downhill mountain biking sector opens from mid-June to end of August and is becoming increasingly more widely known and practised.

1 bike park, since 2005. It is the same as the snowpark but in the MTB version. Situated at the centre of the resort, it is serviced by the Lutins lift. This is a place for freestylers to have fun and was designed by Carmine Falco and Yoann Paccard, of the Scott team. There are often famous riders there, with amazing demonstrations and shows. Description: 1 four cross (4X), 1 slopestyle (wallride, northshore rides between 50cm and 5.50m, 2 transfers, 3 tables, 1 set up, wall C), 2 trails ( easy and difficult)

The MTB area of Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine in a few figures (Way marked by the French Cycling Federation):
140 miles way marked routes : 60 miles cross-country and 80 miles downhill routes
24 routes :
— 9 cross-country routes : in total 60 miles tracks, open to all
— > 15 downhill routes : in total 75 miles routes, including world’s longest marathon downhill route of 20 miles : the Mégavalanche.
3 permanent downhill tracks : these training and competition tracks for beginner and expert downhillers are situated under the 1st (beginner) and 2nd parts (medium) of the Grandes Rousses DMC and under the Poutran (expert) cable car.
8,561 feet of downhill difference in height (from 10,922 ft down to 2,361 ft altitude) served by 9 ski lifts open from July 1st to September 3rd, thus allowing you to add up to 32,800 ft downhill difference in height in one day.
