Alpe d'Huez

Your ski pass for Les 2 Alpes gives you 1 free day’s access to the ski area of Alpe d’Huez, just across the valley and a 15minute drive from the chalet to the lifts. This vast, sunny ski area is fantastic for all level of skier. Alpe d'Huez is actually known as "L'ile au Soleil" (Island of the Sun) as most slopes face south.

The ski domain includes 250km of linked pistes extending over an altitude range of 2,200m. The top station, Pic Blanc, has an altitude of 3330m and offers breathtaking views and claims, on a clear day, that a fifth of France can be seen from this point! From this summit begins the famous run La Sarenne...the longest black run in Europe.

The expansive domain is served by a modern lift system (81lifts) that encompasses Alpe d’Huez and the outlying villages of Oz en Oisans, Auris en Oisans and Vaujany. The pistes are made up of Black: 16, Red: 40, Blue: 34, Green: 43. There are 2 snowparks (1 beginner, 1 expert).

The main resort area is nestled in a sunny bowl with the gentle beginner slopes in the resort basin, more challenging intermediate runs at mid mountain level and the steep expert terrain at high altitude. The beginner and intermediate runs directly above the resort can get congested, but you can avoid the crowds by exploring some of the beautiful cruisey tree-lined runs leading down to the neighbouring villages of Oz, Vaujany and Auris-en-Oisans.
